According to statistics from Yinchuan customs in Ningxia, in the first half of this year, wine exports from the region totalled 3.65 million yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 75.48%.
Ningxia is becoming a star region in China that has attracted increasing attention from the international wine scene in recent years.
As the figures released from Yinchuan Customs show, the value of Ningxia wine export achieved RMB3.65 million in the first six months of 2021, up 75.48% year on year.
As reported, Ningxia wines are now selling well in markets such as Europe, America and Japan. In fact, more and more local wine export companies are joining the game to expand the scale of Ningxia wine export.
In fact, due to the growing international demand, winemaking has already become a key industry in Ningxia. To shorten the processing time at the customs and speed up the export logistic, Yinchuan Customs keeps streamlining clearance procedures, coordinating test laboratories to expedite the inspection process, and providing product certification as soon as it can to advance the real export since the pandemic began in 2020.
The three major targeted measures taken by the customs include to provide the information and technical consultations involving external technical barriers to trade and other dynamic changes, to help wine enterprises adapt to international markets; closely supervising the enterprises’ quality management system, internal control system, on-spot hygiene, food safety practice, and guiding them in wine quality or safety assurance through export inspection; expediting clearance, setting up a “green channel” for wine export, giving priority to its inspection, quarantine and certification.
Yu Wang, overseas export manager at Ningxia boutique winery icon Silver Heights, spoke to the local newspaper that although the winery have received a number of overseas orders in recent years, due to the pandemic, the logistic cost has become relatively high.
“Yinchuan Customs has given us a lot of help, not only providing free testing of wine samples, other processes such as inspection and certification are running on a fast speed, that saves us a lot of troubles and creates more export opportunities for us,” said Wang in the interview.
