On July 30th, the 2021 China International Wine Marselan Competition, hosted by the China Alcoholic Drinks Association(CADA) and the People's Government of Qinhuangdao, organized by the Wine Committee of CADA, Changli County Government, and Kings International Winery, was held in Changli.

The competition collected nearly 100 Marselan single-variety and blended products from major wine producing regions such as Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Yantai, Hebei, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia. Professionals from enterprises, scientific research institutions, and government agencies in major wine-producing regions across the country gathered to judge .

Through years of cultivation, wine-making and promotion, Marselan has become a new star of wine grape varieties in the Jieshishan region. The organizers hope to continue to promote Marselan wines through the competition, spread Marselan and wine culture, and allow more consumers know Marseland and love Marseland. In this way, China's wine industry will be further promoted and the competitiveness of its wines will be improved.

 Huo Xingsan, Secretary-General of Wine Committee of CADA, stated in his speech that Marselan was introduced to China in 2001 and grown in Gansu, Changli, Yantai, Ningxia, Xinjiang as well as other production areas, with its excellent characteristics and adaptability. The characteristics of vasatile style have won the favor and praise of professionals and consumers, and have the potential to become a representative wine variety in China. As a special event for Marselan, the China International Wine Marselan Competition is held every two years. It builds a communication platform for exchanges between various producing areas and helps to better understand the characteristics of Chinese Marselan wines, so as to explore the style characteristics of Chinese wine and further promote the development of the Chinese wine industry.
