Shanghai ProWine 2022 will open at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) from Nov 20 to 22, but many major events have been cancelled as the daily number of COVID-19 cases in China nears 4,000, the highest level since May.

In a statement released on November 4, ProWine said the decision was made "in light of the recent sporadic COVID-19 cases in several Chinese cities, in accordance with Shanghai's epidemic prevention policies and the exhibition's epidemic prevention and control regulations, and for the sake of the physical health of exhibitors and visitors".

No further date has been announced. The B2B Wine Fair said it is in close communication with relevant authorities and partners.

China's ongoing coronavirus restrictions have forced several leading wine shows to reschedule, including China Food and Beverage (Chengdu), the country's largest wine and beverage show, and Wine2Asia organized by Vinitaly and Paco in Shenzhen.
