China is interested in expanding the import of wine and fruit juices from Azerbaijan, Ma Chi, economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan, told Report.
According to him, Azerbaijani products are of high quality: “Unfortunately, Chinese consumers are not familiar with Azerbaijani products. For this, it is necessary to expand the promotion of Azerbaijani products in China. I believe that joint initiatives should be implemented in this direction.”
In looking at Azerbaijan's exports to China, according to the Chinese statistics, they were $210 million in 2021 and $240 million in the first 10 months of this year, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the same period last year . At present, China's imports from Azerbaijan are still mainly oil and chemical products, etc., accounting for 95% of the total. The rest of the top-ranked imports include leather ($1.9 million), beverages and wine ($340,000), cocoa and products ($320,000). It should be said that there is still a great potential for Azerbaijan's exports to China, which requires more communication and mutual understanding between enterprises of both countries.
