China Ministry of Commerce has announced it will review anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Australian wine from November 30. The decision is expected to finally remove the last obstacle to the resumption of normal wine trade between the two countries.
The Bureau of Trade and Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Commerce issued a notice on November 30, saying that the review process is expected to be concluded by the end of November next year.
In March 2021, China imposed punitive tariffs of up to 218 per cent on Australian wine, causing annual Australian wine exports to China to plummet from A $1.3 billion to A $8.1 million.
