In 2023, Ningxia will increase the planting and development area of wine grapes by 19,000 mu, and transform low-quality and low-efficiency gardens by 40,000 mu, bringing the total area of the region to 602,000 mu.  Up to now, Ningxia Helan Mountain east foot wine production area has reached 140 million bottles of wine, the comprehensive output value of more than 40 billion yuan.

At present, the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia is the largest concentrated contiguous wine grape producing area in China.  In May 2021, The State Council agreed to build Ningxia National grape and wine industry opening and development comprehensive pilot zone.  With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other national ministries and commissions, Ningxia closely focused on the introduction of new technologies, creating new models, creating new formats, building new platforms, implementing new projects, and creating new policies "six new" tasks, and promoted the construction of comprehensive pilot areas to achieve phased results.

In 2023, Ningxia successfully declared the grape and wine advantageous characteristic industrial cluster project, and continued to promote the construction of the operation center of the wine industry Wisdom Park at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia, and has now accessed the real-time vineyard monitoring data of 56 wineries.  At the same time, through the holding of the International Grape and Wine Industry Conference and the third China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, Ningxia Helan Mountain east foot wine production area signed a total of 224 financing, investment, sales project agreements, the amount of 30.72 billion yuan.
