In the first three quarters of this year, Ningxia's exports of specialty products reached a new high. Among them, the eastern foot of Helan Mountain wine sales of 910 million yuan, an increase of 4.8%, the average price of wine per bottle reached 69 yuan, an increase of 24.8%. From January to August this year, wine exports were 8.317,600 yuan, an increase of 43.2%; Exports were 77,000 litres, up 12.5% year-on-year.
According to Yinchuan Customs further statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, Ningxia Helan Mountain eastern foot wine is mainly exported to 15 countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Thailand and Laos. Among them, the wine exported to Hong Kong accounted for 52.9% of the total export volume, and Hong Kong became the largest export market for wine at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia.
Thanks to the characteristics of terroir such as large temperature difference between day and night and convenient irrigation of the Yellow River, the wine grapes at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia have the characteristics of "fully developed aroma, good pigment formation, coordinated sugar and acidity", and the wine has the typical Chinese style and Oriental characteristics of "full body, rich aroma, moderate sugar and acid, and balanced sweetness". The eastern foot of Helan Mountain has become recognized by the industry as one of the most suitable places in the world for growing wine grapes and producing high-end wines. In 2021, two "national brand" platforms, the National Grape and Wine Industry Opening and Development Comprehensive Pilot Zone and the China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, will be settled in Ningxia. As of 2023, the "wine brand value of the eastern foot of Helan Mountain" has reached 33.07 billion yuan, and the comprehensive output value has exceeded 40 billion yuan.
Ningxia wine has a long history with Hong Kong. Since 2017, Ningxia and Hong Kong have jointly planned and organized international exhibitions and exchange tastings such as the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Expo and the Hong Kong Wine and Food Tour, and on this basis organized several batches of more than 1,000 Hong Kong entrepreneurs to visit Ningxia and signed a number of cooperation agreements. Today, Ningxia produces nearly half of the country's wine production, Hong Kong as the international wine industry exchange and cooperation in the "super contact" role, with the "Hong Kong International Wine Show" and other professional wine trading platform, but also for Ningxia wine into the international market has made a lot of contributions.
Up to now, Ningxia wine has been sold to more than 40 countries and regions. From the past mainly covering the Southeast Asian market, it has gradually expanded to France, Australia, Switzerland and other traditional wine markets, wine has become the language of Ningxia dialogue with the world, and the world recognizes Ningxia's "purple business card".
